Crevasse-Moraine Trailhead
Crevasse-Moraine trails are swooping, hilly and wide, traversing ridges left by glacial moraines. Some trails are moderate, while other trails offer hilly and challenging terrain for biking, skiing, running and horseback riding. Crevasse-Moraine trails have signage that helps users navigate the many intersections. In winter, trails are groomed for skiing, and are also popular for sledding, dog walking and jogging. In spring, trails can be muddy and buggy. (Check Mat-Su Borough Website for information on trail closures due to mud.) In summer and fall, the trails make a great excursion, and are often the site of community running races. Crevasse-Moraine's trails are part of the Matanuska Greenbelt, connecting to the network of trails on the Matanuska Experiment Farm, Mat-Su College, and the Matanuska Lakes State Recreation area. This treasured area offers many meandering miles of prime trails in the heart of the Mat-Su valley.
